About Via Emilia

Let me introduce you to Via Emilia, an Italian restaurant tucked into the lively 9th arrondissement at 22 Rue la Bruyère, 75009 Paris, France, a spot that immediately feels welcoming the moment you step inside. Inspired by classic Italian hospitality, Via Emilia blends a relaxed neighborhood vibe with the kind of warmth you usually associate with long meals shared among friends. The space feels casual yet thoughtfully put together, making it just as comfortable for a spontaneous lunch as it is for an unhurried evening dinner. What really defines Via Emilia is its focus on approachable Italian flavors, where familiar recipes are treated with care rather than fuss. You will notice an emphasis on balance, whether it is a comforting plate designed for sharing or a lighter option that still feels satisfying. The menu naturally supports different moods and appetites, offering small plates for grazing, vegetarian-friendly choices, and healthier options that never feel like an afterthought. Drinks play a big role in the experience too, with a selection that moves easily from coffee during the day to beer, wine, cocktails, and spirits later on, all chosen to complement the food instead of overpowering it. Service options are flexible, which is part of the restaurant’s everyday appeal, since you can settle in for a relaxed dine-in experience or enjoy delivery when you want Italian comfort at home. Via Emilia feels less like a formal destination and more like a place you return to, where the atmosphere stays friendly, the offerings remain consistent, and every visit feels familiar while still leaving room to explore something new from the menu. It suits casual meetups, quiet solo meals, or laid-back evenings, and the rhythm of the room stays easygoing throughout the day. The Italian restaurant identity comes through naturally, focusing on enjoyment, conversation, and simple pleasure rather than trends.

This was probably my favorite restaurant I visited during my trip to Paris, we were absolutely blown away by the level of quality and flavors at Via Emilia, offering an authentic Italian meal at a very reasonable price. Guanciale Ricotta Fumée - the flavor and texture of both the guanciale and the smoked ricotta were both very amazing, rich and high quality Tortellini Pesto Ricotta and Tortellini Truffle - both cooked perfectly al dente, handmade pasta, high quality, and very good flavors The meat inside the tortellini had good flavor too. Tried a tigelle with prosciutto and eggplant (kind of like a little sandwich or wrap), really enjoyed the texture and flavor of the bread and eggplant The tiramisu was super fresh, one of the better tiramisus I've had (comparable to ones I've had in Italy) It's a cute little restaurant, we went with no reservation and they were able to seat us at the bar (but I'd recommend making reservations). The owner/server was so friendly and helped us to understand their French-only menu. My favorite restaurant that I went to in Paris, hopefully I can come back one day!

Still one of my absolute favorite spots in Paris. Everything I’ve ever ordered has been spot on. The guanciale with ricotta is hands down my go-to appetizer, and the ravioli? That texture is unreal.

What a great find in Paris! We ate here for lunch and then made another reservation for a couple days later. Simple menu with attention to the quality and simplicity which to me is the definition of proper Italian cooking. The burrata appetizer was amazing and so was the mixed vegetables with mozzarella appetizer. The mozzarella is top quality and the burrata had a little bit of black truffle in the middle. All the stuffed pasta we had was amazing and loved that they all come in a simple butter and sage sauce. Trust Eric on wine recommendations by the glass to pair with your food. Service was attentive and friendly. We will be back next time we are in Paris.
